What Is Dualism
QUESTION: What is dualism?ANSWER:The Wikipedia encyclopedia states, “dualism is a set of views about the relationship between mind and matter, which begins with the claim that mental phenomena are, in some respects, non-physical.” This relationship could just as well be described as the relationship between the mind and the brain. This is a very fundamental concept that either reinforces our worldview or goes against it. If we have a Biblical worldview, the dualism concept reinforces it. If we have a secular humanist, materialist, evolutionary worldview, the dualism concept flies in the face of what we believe.
The alternative to dualism can be described as physicalism or materialism. This worldview denies the existence of the supernatural and holds that the physical realm is all that that exists. What is needed is a thorough study of the rational and scientific evidence for dualism and the biblical worldview. Alternatively, we need to study the rational and scientific evidence for biological macroevolution that supports the opposite secular humanist, materialist worldview.
If we do this, we will find the truth of the biblical worldview and find that the opposite worldview is only supported by hoaxes, lies, and misinformation.
